Lost Lands 2025
From Tomorrowland to EDC Las Vegas: Mark Rietveld’s Influence on International Festival Production
With nearly two decades of experience, the Co-Owner and Creative Director of 360 Show Design has contributed to major international events, record-setting productions, and award-recognized projects.
A festival stage is often the most visible element of a live performance, yet its development involves an extensive process that audiences rarely witness. Architectural planning, technical systems, lighting arrangements, and artistic decisions must operate together to create an environment capable of supporting an entire production. For nearly 20 years, Mark Rietveld has worked at the intersection of these disciplines, developing a career that encompasses some of the most established names in international live entertainment.
Rietveld is the Co-Owner and Creative Director of 360 Show Design, an international creative production company working with festival organizers, promoters, artists, and entertainment brands. Specializing in stage architecture, creative direction, production design, and technical integration, the company develops environments that translate artistic ideas into physical experiences. Rietveld’s role places him at the center of this process, where creative concepts must be developed with careful consideration for both their visual identity and practical execution.
His professional portfolio includes Defqon.1 Festival, Qlimax, Mysteryland, Tomorrowland, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Creamfields Chile, Lost Lands Festival, So Track Boa, No Art Festival, Verknipt, and EDC Las Vegas, alongside major productions throughout Australia. These projects span different entertainment formats and international markets, reflecting the breadth of his experience in an industry that requires creative adaptability and precise coordination.
A Professional Record Beyond Festival Stages
360 Show Design’s work has also been associated with significant industry distinctions. The company contributed to a production at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in the Netherlands that achieved the Guinness World Record for the largest laser show, featuring 1,100 lasers. The accomplishment required the coordination of an exceptionally large technical installation within a major entertainment venue.
In 2026, the company’s contribution to the Lost Lands Festival Grand Finale also received a nomination for a Live Entertainment Production Award (LEPA). These achievements add another dimension to 360 Show Design’s international portfolio, demonstrating its participation in projects recognized for their production scale and creative ambition.
Rietveld’s approach to such assignments is informed by an understanding of how visual environments influence the experience of live music. His work considers the relationship between architectural structures, lighting, technical effects, and audience perception. Rather than viewing these elements as separate components, he develops creative concepts that allow them to function as a cohesive part of the performance.

Leadership Across Creative and Technical Disciplines
Delivering productions of this complexity requires a clearly defined leadership structure. At 360 Show Design, Rietveld works closely with Bart Straver, Head of Production, and Pieter Truijen, Head of Design.
Straver oversees production planning, technical coordination, and the operational requirements necessary to realize ambitious event concepts. Truijen leads the development of stage environments, translating artistic objectives into designs that account for both visual presentation and technical feasibility. Rietveld’s creative direction connects these areas, helping maintain a consistent artistic vision throughout the development and execution of each project.
Their work has taken them across Europe, North America, South America, Central America, Australia, and the Middle East. The diversity of these assignments demonstrates the team’s experience working with different venues, production requirements, and event organizers while adapting their approach to the demands of each project.
EDC Las Vegas and a Series of Major 2026 Productions
Throughout 2026, 360 Show Design has contributed to a substantial lineup of international events, including Verknipt Ziggo Dome, Don’t Let Daddy Know Amsterdam, Verknipt Warehouse Special Easter, Kingsland Festival, Empire Music Festival in Guatemala, Verknipt Unrestricted, EDC Las Vegas, and Verknipt Festival Utrecht.
One of the company’s most prominent projects this year involved redesigning the Basspod stage for EDC Las Vegas 2026. The assignment placed 360 Show Design’s creative and technical capabilities within one of electronic music’s most recognizable festival settings, where stage architecture and visual presentation form an essential part of the audience experience.
The redesigned Basspod represents an important addition to the company’s body of work, combining architectural considerations with lighting, visual design, and technical production. For Rietveld and his colleagues, the project provided another opportunity to develop a distinctive environment within an established international event.
Beyond EDC Las Vegas, the company’s 2026 schedule illustrates its continued involvement in productions across multiple countries and entertainment markets. Each assignment requires a tailored creative approach, reflecting the varying artistic objectives and technical demands of the events themselves.
The Philosophy Behind the Production
Despite the international scale of his work, Rietveld’s perspective on stage design remains closely connected to the experience of the audience. He views successful production as the result of a carefully developed concept supported by the expertise necessary to bring it to life.
“Great show design is about creating moments people remember,” says Rietveld. “Every project starts with a vision, but it’s the collaboration between creative ideas and technical expertise that turns that vision into something audiences can truly experience.”
That principle has informed his contributions to festivals, touring productions, and major entertainment events throughout his career. It also reflects the collaborative nature of 360 Show Design, where artistic direction, design development, and technical implementation operate as interconnected responsibilities.
As Rietveld approaches two decades of professional involvement in international live entertainment, his portfolio reflects sustained participation in productions of considerable scale and visibility. From established festivals to record-setting and award-nominated projects, his work with 360 Show Design continues to contribute to the development of contemporary stage design and large-scale entertainment production.
